When to go:
With a summer heat index of an average of 95F at peak hours, San Antonio and the rest of the south-central US offer quite an impressive semitropical climate. The city considers humidity a friend, and rain rarely seems to abate between the months of July and September. For a sunlit city, we recommend a visit either during spring or autumn, and though the wildflowers are a great addition to your morning strolls, the city is alive with color in autumn; activities tend to be more frequent in comparison to spring as well. Winter may be a no-go for a few, but if you consider the advantages - cool temperatures, comfortable temperatures, wonderful temperatures - this season may turn out to be a go.
Getting there and around:
San Antonio International Airport would more appropriately reside under the term 'cross-border airport'. As it so happens, the only evident international connections seen regularly in its schedule are those to Mexican cities. Even folks from Canada often have to stop over in the state capital or simply where a major terminal resides in order to find their way to San Antonio. Just in from the UK: "Austin here we come!" Apart from the troubles one encounters in obtaining overseas connections to San Antonio, the rest of your travels will most-likely be worry free. The city's public bus and streetcar systems are both top-notch, and with gridlock kept at a 'minor-issue' level, you'll get around speedily enough not to opt for a taxi.
Attractions:
The San Antonio Museum of Art is certainly a stand-out item in this city, but when you've spend some time roaming the exhibits, partaking in a poetry reading, or even delving into the depths of ancient art, you'll forget all outside forces.
