When to go:
Unless New England's climate shows signs of weakening its annual repertoire of distinct, characterful seasons, you'll be in for quite a surprise if you're expecting dry summers, mild winters, and gentle springs and autumns. Though the shoulder seasons are occasionally forgiving, it's far fetched to think of oneself as an animated lucky charm in this region of the world. One of America's most renowned poets, Robert Frost found Manchester quite to his liking, so much in fact that he settled down here for almost a decade's time. The author resided in a small farm-town outside of Manchester, roughly 8-miles out given the moniker of Derry. His home, now a museum of his life and work, particularly that which took place within the 1901-1909 bracket, is a big draw for literature aficionados.
