Weather is mostly the same year-round, its hot, and humid as well, although the farther inland you go, the more arid the air becomes.

The recommended modes of getting around town are by car (rental), and by taxi, or the method that allows you to best assimilate yourself with the Accra way of life is by foot.
Places to go:
Although there are many hotels that offer access to beautiful large pools surrounded by numerous palm trees, the truly amazing place to go for relaxation would be the beach. Located at the edge of the city, beaches such as Coco Beach and La Pleasure Beach offer marvelous views of the Atlantic. Coco is the more secluded, peaceful and quiet choice of the two, but if you wish to be surrounded by young Ghanaians on the lively sands of Accra, drive over to La Pleasure Beach on the weekends.If you want to experience city life, just travel the streets. Pass through the Makola Market and youll encounter vendors and crowds all day, and youll find anything and everything you can think of. Go to the Arts Centre and youll find original hand carved pieces, and most likely many unexpected surprises that will fascinate you and expose you to the wonders of African culture. (Tip: Sellers are aggressive. Bargaining is a must!)If youd like to visit a place showcasing the heritage of the nation of Ghana, visit the Kwame Nkrumah Park. With an admittance fee equivelant to around 2, this grand monument is a tribute to Ghanas founding father. There exists a crypt, museum, and fountains, and just east of the Park lies Independence Square, another place worth visiting.If youd like an all encompassing experience of Ghanas history and cultural heritage, find your way to the National Museum, near Museum Circle, and with a small entrance fee equivelant to around 60p, view hundreds of objects commemorating and honoring traditions of the Ga, Akwamu, and Asante people.For individuals interested in music and dance, just make your way to the Greater Accra Centre for National Culture, and get swept up in the sounds and movements that define Ghana.And dont forget the visit the W.E.B. Dubois Memorial Centre of Pan-African Culture, and witness many of this world-famous authors pieces in person.
